Update 3/23: At this time, garbage and recycling services by Waste Management are still operating on scheduled days. PLEASE NOTE - your garbage or recycling might be picked up earlier on your pickup day than is normally the case. Please make sure to have your garbage and recycling bins ready for pick up by 6:00 a.m. or the night before the day of your scheduled pickup. Waste management will be doing our city pick up with additional trucks and 1 person per truck (normally there are 2; one driving and one hooking up the carts to the truck.)
All residents are required to use the City's solid waste service. Weekly collection includes garbage, recycling, yard waste (April - November) and appliances. Each residence may select the size of garbage container they need for weekly garbage collection. Items to be collected must be placed near the curb or alley by 6:00 a.m. on the designated pick-up day. For more information regarding solid waste or missed garbage pick-up, please call Waste Management (952) 890-1100.
Holidays: Solid waste collection is delayed one day if the following holidays occur Monday through Friday: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. (See schedule link below)
Container Options: Three standard sizes of garbage containers are available (32, 64, or 96 gallon). One container is provided for each residential unit unless over 96 gallons of garbage collection is requested.
Only management companies and property owners can request to change the size of your garbage container.
Broken Containers: If a cart is broken and needs to be replaced or a different sized garbage container is needed, please call City Hall at 763-531-1211. Please do not contact Waste Management as they will direct you to contact the City.
Stickers for Extras: Disposal of Appliances and Furniture items require the attachment of Solid Waste Stickers.
1-Unit stickers are $1.50 and 5-Unit stickers are $7.50. They can be purchased at City Hall, 4100 Lakeview Avenue North, or by calling (763) 531-1211 to have them charged to your utility bill and then mailed out to you.
Only management companies & property owners may request to have solid waste stickers mailed out and charged to your utility account.Interested in Organic Recycling? Click here!
