A Robbinsdale Recreation Update: What’s Happening in January

Happy Holidays Robbinsdale! And thank you for being an e-subscriber! What are your goals this New Year? Is it to spend more time with family, get more involved with your community, try something new, or just be more active? If so, Robbinsdale Recreation Services has plenty of programs to help out you and your loved ones. Winter programs are open for registration online! January tends to focus on making goals for the new year and we have an abundance of fun and exciting programs centered around your goals, along with family, friends, and community. Kicking it off is the New Year’s Eve Open Skate & Movie Party at the New Hope Ice Arena. Walk When the Moon if Full is also a great program for the whole family to enjoy and coming back for its second annual event, Fire on Ice!

Youth can enjoy their no school days participating in STEM Explores, Snapology- Gamebot Robotics & Adventures with Star Wars, or by taking a cooking class- Jr. Chefs & Kids in the Kitchen. As always we have several types of martial arts programs, along with Rev Sports Soccer & Volleyball, Youth Basketball, 3 on 3 Boys Basketball, Fencing, and Amazing Athletes to keep them active throughout the winter. Featured arts and crafts for this month are Firefighters: Everyday Hero’s and Glitter! We also have a few spots left in our Safe at Home program.

Adults can try something new and delight in programs such as Encaustic Collage, take a cooking class-Healthy Comfort Foods, or join 3 on 3 Adult Basketball or Men’s Over 40 Volleyball. Let’s Go To The Movies! will be featuring Marley & Me & The Age of Adaline. And as always we have room for one more in our Baby Boomers & Beyond Fitness Class, GRUVE Fitness, Roving Minds, Donut Make You Wonder & our Book Discussion Group programs.

Temperatures are continuing to drop, but remember the whole family can come inside the Robbinsdale Community Gyms & Fitness Center for open gym times and to use the fantastic fitness center to have a little fun and burn some energy! Punch passes and memberships are available for purchase on site. During the month of January receive 20% any membership. Identification is required to purchase a membership or punch pass.

Sanborn Warming house is scheduled to open during Winter Break with extended hours of 12:30 to 9 pm, weather permitting. The warming house will be closed on Dec. 25 and shorter hours on Dec. 24. Regular hours will start January 4th. For current hours and conditions, please check the City website.
