Robbinsdale Parks

The Robbinsdale Parks Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the City's fourteen parks totaling 110 acres, park development, improvement projects and operations. Park development and acquisition funding is provided through the City's general fund, government grants and donations from civic and non-profit community groups. Clicking on the links below will provide you with more details.

  • Triangle Wading Pool is now closed. Please Note:

Due to its deteriorating condition and low number of users the last several years, the Triangle Park wading pool is now permanently closed. This wading pool has been in use since the 1960s and has been open during the months of June thru mid-August for over 50 years. Though the city has received good long term use of this recreation facility, we were required to spend increasing amounts of funds on repair, maintenance and bringing the pool into compliance with current codes. Over recent years, other outdoor water play facilities have been built, such as the Crystal Cove Aquatic Center in nearby Crystal, giving users additional options for outdoor water play. The plan is to physically remove the Triangle Park wading pool in the fall of this year or spring of 2018.

The decision regarding use of this space once the wading pool has been removed has not yet been determined. Availability of funds and community interests are essential elements in the decision making process. For the interim period between pool closure and redevelopment, the structure will be removed and the area will be converted into a grass open space. The City Council, with input from city staff and Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commissioners, will be further evaluating options that best meet the recreational needs of the neighborhood.
