PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY DEPARTMENT

The Robbinsdale Parks,
Recreation and Forestry Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the
City's fourteen parks totaling 110 acres, park development, improvement projects and
operations. Park development and acquisition funding is provided through the City's
general fund, government grants and donations from civic and non-profit community groups.
Robbinsdale residents, community groups and businesses may "Adopt-a-Park." This
program gives residents a way to contribute to a cleaner environment by lending a hand to

The Fitness Center
facility includes a large gymnasium and an extensive exercise room. Family and individual
membership are available for purchase, as well as daily fees. Rentals are available for
large and small group activities also.
The programs and
activities offered by the department provides diverse opportunities to the residents of
Robbinsdale and the surrounding communities. A wide variety of leisure activities are
designed to meet the needs, interest and abilities of all residents. The Recreation
Department offers a wide variety of athletic programs for youth and adults. Click on

information and to download the current recreation program brochure. Each year, over
160 recreation programs are offered to over 7500 registrants. The senior citizen program
offers a senior club, trips/tours, special events, classes and volunteer opportunities.
The Five Cities Senior Transportation provides rides for shopping, senior activities and
senior dining.
The Robbinsdale City Band
is made up of a 75 member marching band and a 50 member concert band. Over 25 concerts and
10 parades are scheduled annually.

The Recreation Department
sponsors and/or gives support to the historical museum and the Robbin Gallery museum
housed in the Robbinsdale Historical Library at 4914 42nd Avenue No.
The Forestry Department is
responsible for a wide range of programs including diseased tree management, tree
