General Information
on Activities The Parks,
Recreation & Forestry Department strives to provide quality programs and facilities to
benefit the physical and mental well being of our residents. Listed below are some of the
many programs available throughout the year. Check the Events page for some current
activities.
The Department produces seasonal recreation brochures as part of the City Newsletter which
is mailed to all residents. The Spring & Summer Issue will be mailed to residents at
the end of February. Please call 763/531-1278 for more information or to receive a

Sports Rosters to download a current roster form for registering Athletic teams.
Adobe Reader is required to view either

| Robbinsdale
Fitness Center |
The Robbinsdale Community
Gym and Fitness Center (RCGFG) is located at the RALC Building, 3730 Toledo Ave. N.
Please enter from the Regent side of the building at door number 18. For the current
schedule click here.
Facilities include a weight
room and 2 gymnasiums. Individuals and families can either pay on a daily basis or
purchase a membership. For more information and a video, please click on the Commuity
Gym & Fitness Center link. The phone number for the Gyms is 763-442-1686. Call
763-531-1278 for general Parks, Recreation and Forestry information.
Basketball leagues are
offered during the school year for adults and in the winter for youth in grades 3-8. Adult
program is played in a 3 on 3 format on Thursday evenings. Youth program includes some
instruction, practice and games. Meets on Saturdays and Fridays, January through March.

A variety of programs for
youth of all ages is offered. Please check the seasonal brochure for the current
offerings.
Combination of effective
exercise jazz-dance movembers with popular music. Jazzercise is known for it's
choreography, class structure, instructor training and suitability for participants of all
ages and levels. Summer class times are: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 5:50 pm
and Saturday mornings at 9:30 am., fees paid at the door. Classes are held at the RCGFC,
3730 Toledo Ave. N, enter door 18 from the Regent side of the building. Check the Jazzercise website for more information on
Jazzercise along with some useful health and exercise tips.
A classical marital arts
of Korean and Chinese origin is offered for youth and adults at the Crystal Community
Center. Registration and payment is on a month by month basis based on the level. Program
meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the whole year. Register is taken at
Robbinsdale City Hall. Phone registration accepted using a credit/debit card. Call

Events and One time classes |
Throughout the year,
Robbinsdale offers a variety of special events such as Halloween events, Whiz Bang Days at
the Parks, City Band Concerts, Pet & Wheel Parade, and much more. Also there are many
classes offered for 1-3 class periods. Make sure you check each brochure.

Interest Classes-Youth & Adult |
Robbinsdale offers a range
of classes to meet the needs of the youth & adults. Art classes, creative movement,
drama are just a few that have been offered through the year. If you know of an interest
out there that you haven't seen offered, give us a call and we will see what we can do.
This art gallery is
operated by volunteers of the Hennepin Artists Association at the Historical Robbinsdale
Library, 4915 42nd Ave. N. Gallery shows rotate on a monthly basis. For more information,
please call the Gallery at 763-537-5906.
Art Workshops are also available
throughout the year. The next one is scheduled for mid-September. Please check back later
for a flyer.
Open to all men and women
with musical talent and interest. Concert band rehearsals and/or band engagements are
scheduled every Thursdays. If interested in joining, please call the Parks and Recreation

Historical Society |
The Historical Society
meets 6 months out of the year and operates a museum at the Historical Robbinsdale
Library, 4915 42nd Ave. N. For more information about the Robbinsdale Historical Society
and on how to join, please call the Parks, Recreation and Forestry office at 763-531-1278.
Various programs are
offered throughout the year for adults 55 years and older. The Friendly Robbins, a senior
citizens club meets on Wednesday afternoons. There are membership dues and meeting fees to
help defray the cost of the programs. There are also monthly educational programs that
offer information pertinent to Senior Citizens. Other programs includes book and movie
discussion groups, study groups, walking tours, day trips and transportation services to
specific events and shopping areas. Click here for current

| Senior Community Services |
Senior
Community Services provides the following types of services to the elderly and their
families in the western half of Metropolitan Minnesota:
Frail Elder Support Services
Assists older adults to remain independent, in dignity and safety, by providing outreach,
service coordination, individual and group supportive counseling, homemaking, home
maintenance, and outdoor chore services.
Caregiver Support Services
Provides information and assistance, education sessions, ongoing support groups, and
coaching/counseling for spouses, adult children, and other family members, friends, and
neighbors who help and support the older adults in their lives.
Supporting Positive Aging
Offers a wide variety of programs and services, such as health, education, transportation,
volunteerism, nutrition, and social activities, that meet the diverse needs of the older
population in the 25 communities served by 8 senior community centers.Visit the Senior

| Trips-year round |
Various day trip
opportunities are offered for adults and youth. Adult trips include Out & About,
Outdoor Walking and Art Sampler. Youth trips may be offered on school release days and
during the summer.

leagues are offered in cooperation with surrounding communities. Please check the season
