Practical Information for Residents? Check out the FAQs

Small town tradition survives in Robbinsdale's typical main street businesses and family-friendly atmosphere. Affordable, quality, single family homes are the predominant land use. Abutting the northwest corner of Minneapolis, the City provides a quiet haven from the bustle of city life. A regional medical center, convenient shopping, lake vistas, a variety of recreation activities, all only 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Or stay in town and Celebrate Whiz Bang Days the second weekend in July.

Are your sidewalks clear of ice and snow?
In this video, David Bjorkquist from the Senior Commission reminds us all to pay attention to ice and snow on the sidewalks in front of our homes and businesses. Take time to keep Robbinsdale a safe place for pedestrians.

City Sidewalk Plowing Map
Below is a link to the City's sidewalk plowing map, which shows the sidewalks the City machine goes through after each snowstorm. Notice the red lines are not always on both sides of a street. For example we only do the north side of County Road 9 because of narrow widths on the south side with utility poles and residents' landscaping. If you have a sidewalk along the street in front of your home or business, city code requires the walk to be cleared regardless of whether it's on this map. This map just shows the main routes where we focus our limited resources.  City Sidewalk Plowing Map

Notice of Aeration Operation on Crystal Lake--Thin Ice Warning
Beginning on or after December 5th, an aeration system creating open water and thin ice will be in operation on the north end of Crystal Lake in Robbinsdale. The aeration system is necessary to prevent fish winter kill due to low oxygen levels within the lake. Lake users are cautioned that ice will not form in the section of the lake where the aeration system is operating and that the surrounding ice may be weak. This area will be identified by warning signs and should be avoided by lake users.
